In a recent Fortune Magazine interview, Warren Buffet made some comments about women in the workforce that are so logical and obvious you wonder why we’re still wrestling with the issue.
Buffet argues that we’re not reaching our full potential as a country if we’re only utilizing half of our country’s talent. Buffet said “No manager operates his or her plants at 80% efficiency when steps could be taken that would increase output.”
Only by attracting, promoting, valuing and retaining women in our workforce will we reach our full potential. Working in the media industry is tough enough these days, I hope the women at our company feel they have equal opportunities and voice: we won’t succeed without them.
And to the women who work full-time or part-time outside the home and work as mother’s: Happy Mother’s Day.
